I am looking for powder options for loading some 185gr Hornady XTP in 45 ACP. What would you use?

Just my choices: AA#5, Unique, HS6, WSF. All should do well with the 185XTP. Whatever you have on hand or what your local gun shop has in stock.

I went with 6.8gr of win231, should be 970ish FPS just to see how it expands. I haven't tested it yet but I am sure after I satisfy my curiosity I wll be going with probably right at 6.2gr to get more rounds per container.

According to Hornady with win231:
Min- 5.9gr=850FPS
Max 7.2gr= 1000 FPS

COaL= 1.230

I use 8.5 grns. of Power Pistol for a velocity of 1045 FPS out of a 5" barrel.

10g of HS-6 lit with a CCI 300. Good for a few ticks north of 1000fps from a Commander.
