How clean should the inside of my brass be before reloading it. Once fired mixed head stamp, I already de-primed and tumbled it. Also if there is some dusty residue in and on the cases will this cause an issue? I mean residue from the media. My bad if this is a dupe but my eyes are bugging out from searching and was hoping for a quicker answer. Thanks : J.D. |

If by "dusty residue" you mean the red rouge from the Lyman treated walnut you need to get it ALL out. It is an abrasive and not something you want in the bore of your guns.
Otherwise, just tumble it and don't worry about the insides. Black carbon/soot is normal, but there should be no residue from the tumbling media. |

I agree, get some new media if you are using the "cursed Lyman red dust of death walnut media". Put 3 or 4 dryer sheets in with brass, they will cut down on the dust. Used sheets are fine. |

Dust from untreated walnut ought to be removed from your brass, too. Blow it off with compressed air, then start running a dryer sheet with the media to catch the dust every other load or so. If you stay on top of the dust, it's pretty much not an issue. Or you can just use corn cob media which leaves no dust. |
