| I'd put the hole thing together first then decide where you like it. It will free stand with the strong mount. You can't mount it more than an inch or so back from the front edge or the handle hits. You might want to decide on room based on the size bins you'll use also. Most people just use the little dillon bins but I got some much bigger ones, probably about the size of the sl900 bins. You can't load them heavy or they bend the bracket but they are great for processing brass. Your probably going to want more room than you think on the left. You want to be able to look at the rounds in station 3 to look at the powder charge and set the bullets. I've got mine offset to the right side of my bench. |

I just mounted mine this morning. I can't speak to how far right but I can speak to how far front.
When I C-Clamp the board it's mounted to down to the bench, it is 3/4" from the strong mount to the bench. I can however move it back to as far as 2 3/8" when the handle in its full down position. (This is with a 550, not 550B and a straight ball handle) Hope that helps. |

Trial and error, a classic problem solving technique. |

I set the press on the strong mount and put the bin and tray on and cycled it up and down a few times.
It's going to have to be closer to right side of the bench if I want to sit on my barstool and reload, as the handle was hitting my leg even near the middle of the bench. I use the bench on the right for cleaning and other work on firearms, so I am able to take those presses and vice off fairly quick, but I want to leave the Dillon put. |

I'd center it for sure. The powder measure will not allow you to open your cabinet door all the way if place it on that side.
Don't ask me how I know that. I am all for the C clamp suggestion above too. C Clamps are a lot easier to remove and reposition than bolts. |

Wow – that’s about the cleanest reloading bench I’ve ever seen! Suggest you take the time to optimize the tool location for comfortable use since you’re going to become miserable very quickly if it isn’t. I reload standing and I suspect even with the strong mount the left hand table would be too low for me. I’d probably remove the vise and two existing presses and put the 550 on the higher table. Granted, you may have already thought that out. FWIW, I have a ceiling mounted light dedicated solely to shining into the charged case so that as I put a bullet in the case mouth I can simultaneously check the power level in the case. The light you’ve already got may or may not work for that, but if not you might want to consider a separate light. |
