I have still not recieved the catalog i requested over three weeks ago.I am confused as to ,What you get with the RL550 listed on there website, $406.95 I assume it comes with a caliber conversion kit? To reload .223 would i just need some dies or more stuff.Anybody got the info i need?
Thanks! |

Thanks! I ued to have a RL450 about 19 years ago but sold it as i lost interset in reloading for a long time.I am pretty sure i can pick up and get back in the groove ok.But confued on the way they list the products. So for $406.95 i get everything except dies? Why are Dillon .223 dies $135.95 ? Thats High. Will RCBS dies work? Seems like i had Dillon and RCBS dies before.
I want to get a Lee factory crimp die, will it replace a die on the tool head or have to do that separate? Sorry, i am a little rusty and just need some kick start. |

You were probably looking at carbide (size) dies––you don't need/want them for rifle calibers. RCBS, and any other standard (7/8X14 tpi), dies will work just fine. Everyone swears by whatever they have and use and have had success with. I prefer Dillon or Redding, FWIW. I have heard bad things recently about the finish of RCBS dies, but they are an excellent company. The best advice regarding the crimp die is to NOT crimp .223. Most reloaders do not, but it won't hurt anything if you do. You can put the crimp die in station #4 and make it part of your progressive reloading sequence. Welcome (back) to the best hobby on earth! |

A caliper to measure case length, deburring tool for case mouths. Eventually a case trimmer. |
