How accurate is your case trimmer,  I am trying to trim my .454 Casull cases to 1.373 with my Redding 2400 and the cases are coming out from 1.372 to 1.374 is this acceptable?  A few came out 1.369 are these still ok to load or are they trash.

Thanks,

Stacey

A few thousandths under won't matter.

I'd say that is pretty darn good!  I am very happy with that level of variance in my reloads.  The one thing that more than about +/- 2-3 thousands variance causes problems on with my reloads is crimping; and most of my loads don't require crimping to begin with.

If you are able to hold 1.372 to 1.374 you have bragging rights.  That is 1.373 +/- .001.   +/-.001 is, categorically, a precision machining tolerance.  Most trimming processes are not "certifiablly" capable of holding the desired dimension that close.  IMO, you are good to go.  Just make sure the finished case is located longitudinally by the rim bottoming on the chamber face, and not anywhere else.

I just started reloading for my .454 Casull and know I need a good crimp so I will keep an eye on them to make sure I am crimping good enough.

the redding 2400 is a very good trimmer IMHO. While I now have a Giraud for bulk brass trimming. I still love and use my 2400 for odd calibers and smaller runs of various calibers that I did not get the giraud conversions for. The telorences you are holding for the 2400 are very good.

I've been able to hold a pretty consistent length with my Hornady trimmer.   My setting is 1.750 and it ranges from 1.7495 to 1.751

I'm pretty happy with my my trimmer.
