I had a simular deal like last month. My neighbor that has been next door for 20 years did a favor for a freind and reloading talk came up and neighbor Bob told him I just got back into reloading.
The guy went to his shop and brought a full gallon zip lock bag full of once fired brass and 700 small pistol primers and over a thousand semi wad cutter bullets. All were 38 spl. He gave them to Bob to give to me and Iv'e never seen the man. 
I don't have a pistol or dies for that caliber, Bob has an old 38 spl. I do have dies for 38 super but I don't think they will work. I did buy my mom a 38 spl. 20 years ago. Once and a while we get lucky. I stopped loading pistol rounds 15 years ago and am 6 months into loading 223. I did stock up on small pistol prmers in the mid 90s. 10k left that I paid 17 $ a thousand. |
the way he keeps finding stuff in his basement I won't have to buy anything for awhile...

A very good friend of mine was contacted and has been involved in the inventory, pricing and purchase of an estate with quite a few firearms since last November.. He knows very little about reloading and asked if I would help him see what was there and if I would be interested in buying it all?..
He does not reload nor has he any plans to so I said sure, make the arraingements and I'll meet you at the time/date you say.. He called me, I left work and what I found was pretty amazing.. This is a SHORT List but impressive just the same. 37K + Bullets (Good stuff too not all oddball shit, MIX of quality Cast and Jacketed) 26 Die sets (Again many popular calibers) 4 LEE Factory Crimp Dies Large amount of brass Several powder measures 2 RCBS Powder Trimmers (One NIB) RCBS Lubrisizer RCBS Rockchucker About 2K rds of Factory ammo (there was much more but my Bud got some of that and the Widow won't cut the rest loose?) GLOCK MAGS, Cleaning stuff like Patches and Brushes, really a ton of stuff.. It took me 3 hours to get everything loaded, and a couple days to sort and inventory the loot.. My truck is an F-250 S/Duty Long Bed and the HAUL filled it up inside and out.. 
I have moved a bunch but still have some stuff X-tra to my needs.. Will be selling some .25 Auto Bullets, maybe a few more .380 Bullets, some .45 ACP and 38/357 Cast Bullets as well, maybe a little more brass too?.. |
