I've been researching reloading for a little over a year off and on and am getting ready to make the leap (I know, perfect timing right?).  I've searched but can't find an end all be all thread about what powder is good for what caliber.  I think it would be a good idea to have a sticky about what powder is best for each caliber.

Assuming you can find it, what powder works (I think we can define "works" as a fairly clean burning, easy to meter in most presses, fairly accurate, consistent) for what calibers?

9mm 115gr
9mm 124gr
9mm 147gr
.45 200gr
.45 230gr
.223 55gr
.223 62gr
.223 75gr
.223 77gr
etc, etc

Thanks

"best" means different things to different people

anyway there's a sticky for rifle and pistol loads http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=42&t=242880

I'm a fan of the Accurate Arms powders, but I use Red Dot for shotshell reloading.

It ain't gonna happen, because there's no such thing.

The beauty of this reloading business is that you get to decide what works.

That info is in a reloading manual.

The powders listed for a cartridge and bullet weight, are what the bullet manufacturer recommends.

If you read the chapter on powders, that will answer most of you questions.

Then study the charges and powders used, you will find several powders that will meet your needs.
