I noticed Grafs is once again accepting backorders. I called them and they stated that they got a good chunk of backorders shipped.  My question is does anyone have first hand knowledge that they are indeed shipping backorders?  If so if you would not mind posting your order sate and ship date.  I know this was done for Cabela's backorders and I did not find a similar thread for Grafs.  So here it is.

I've been waiting on 30k of primers from almost 3 months ago. They are indeed on backorder. I got a partial from the initial order a month ago but it was only bullets and some Varget.

No just some folks gotta pay that mortgage this month as they have been buying mass stock for 2-3 months and i bet there are some warning letters in the mail,i just need 200-500 non military 308 cases,3 pounds of powder and 500 30 cal bullets and i would be good for 2 years, but no powder to get around here yet or the same for brass and bullets.

I have an order in for an XL650, with Trimmer, case feeder, .223 trim die, and some mec stuff that was ordered on 1 april that I am still waiting on.  I did get some items from the same order, like dies, strong mount, and bullet tray.

Still haven't heard from them yet or seen any new charges against my card.

do you guys really plan on using 20K primers this year?

I cant find my normal ranier leadsafe .45 bullets and CCI primers anywhere. I only need about 2,000 to last me the whole year but everybody else is buying up 20-30K at a time and i have had to forego several handgun classes and decrease my practice with my service pistol to less than once a month as a result.
Its to the point that im just trying to maintain competency with my patrol handgun.

If yall are IPSC competitors or professional firearm competitors then i can see needing 20-30K worth of components but its people buying 10-20 times their normal supply thats making it harder for others to train.

Hope so. I'm seeing a little more ammo become available locally. Hopefully this is an indicator that things are improving. Still think it'll be quite a while until things get back to normal but it's good to know there's something flowing in the pipeline...even if it's a tricke. I'm waiting on a simple 5k order that's a month old. I expect it'll be another month...or two...or more.

im planning on buying back their stockpiles at a third of its MSRP when supply equalizes again. But i will only be buying back what i need, not 10-40 times that amount.

i wont buy shit from them as i want them to be out there money period for being such idots,if i had that kind of money i would not do this,I know alot of handicap hunters who reload as they cant afford to pay premium dollar for ammo and cut cost any way they can and they are really in the dumps as they have expressed concerns on even getting to do a bit of shooting and hunting this fall due to this crap.

So, you are going to give them some of your reloading supplies to remedy this, correct?

i buy at least 20k primers a year.......have been for almost 20 years....you should have thought about stocking up years ago instead of waiting till the last minute when everyone freaks out and panic buys it all up.....my local shop still has primers, they only went up $5/k in the last year

stocking up ahead of time before general demand increases and large quantities when theres still plenty of supply to suit everyone is fine. Thats one thing, its a different thing entirely when demand skyrockets and theres no supply anywhere and the unprepared people start buying 10 times their previous amount which is still 8 times more than they will use for a given period.

Im fine with the people who stocked up when there was a boon on primers. What i dont like is the people who are waiting till now to stock up on more than they need, its takes food out of other peoples mouth at this point.

So if their plain jane hunting loads for different rifles instead of a worked up precision load for a single rifle why don't you make a trip to Grafs <mexico> and pick up some powder ? they had several the other day that my Lee manual listed 308 loads for ?

Wondering if I should call them about my dillon loader and accesories.  Just read a post on the Dillon website and they are only 2-3 days behind on orders.  I'm sure they fill orders for dealers first, or have a FIFO type of system.

Exactly.   I didnt wait till the last minute i just don't shoot that much in the winter (i hunt mostly) so i didnt relize it would get this bad.  I reload as needed.  I dont have a thousand rounds of 40's just collecting dust.  As i go shooting i buy what i need.  Not stock pile.  What do you think is going to happen a Revolution or somthing?  I've got two mags of TAP ready to go if something goes down.

cause grafs in m exico missouri is 135 miles away and that = 270 mile round trip i cant afford right now so i will wait until the shop in st.charles or the shop i visit in pevley has it in stock, cant be out of all rifle powder for the next 5 months if so then it will have been out for 8 months here and that is more of a issue of supply and demand when it is all rifle powder and ll calibers of brass,it is political!!!!!!!!!!

Graf's Reloading in St. Charles, Mo., not Graf and Son's in Mexico, Mo.  These are not the same company, however they are owned by relatives.

Call Graf and Son's to ask, or check their web site.

How's that working out?

What do you think is going to happen a Revolution or somthing?  I've got two mags of TAP ready to go if something goes down.

When I bought a Glock 20 I figured I'd better learn to reload or just put it on the mantle and admire it. I gradually acquired the equipment to load for all my calibers, partially out of a desire to master a craft and partially to be prepared for disruptions, whatever their origin. Revolution, liberal mischief, or anything else you can name. I have, over the years, acquired the parts to repair and maintain my firearms. I also STOCK PILED milsurp ammo and reloading components. Wish I had done more, but that's water over the dam. I was set to make one more major buy in January, but had some unexpected expenses that depleted my discretionary (shooting) budget. I did get some of the last Powder Valley primers, but I really need a couple of thousand Fed 210s for my Arisaka (CCI will have to do) and 10-15k WSPs (Remingtons will fill in there.

We may, indeed, be in the opening stages of a revolution. Not necessarily the shooting variety, but a major shift in the political/sociological makeup of this country. I am prepared. I hope the "buy as needed" works out for you.

These threads seem to always turn into separate camps of "those who have" and "those who wish they had."

Simple truth is those who looked ahead are simply riding this one out.

Those more short sighted are complaining that things aren't the same as before BHO's election.

Hoarders? Or simply people who planned ahead?

Buy as you need it? Or "Hope" it'll be there without anymore in-depth thought given to supply and demand.

I "WISH" I had stocked up more but as my late father-in-law always said..."Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one gets full first!"

Now it's all a mute point. Components are high and scarce. There will be those willing to pay high prices and those who do not. Same for sellers.

Ever been in a building looking at the floorplan diagram on the wall and see a star with the words, "You are here!"?

Well, you are here! Where that is is entirely of our own making.

Yeah yeah, when my family of 5 goes to the range (try to make it out once a week) we generally shoot about 1k rnds of pistol, minimal .223 and a load of .22. If it hurts your feelings to see where someone has bought or ordered more components than you think they should have bought or ordered you should step back, rethink your position and come again. Just because you only shoot 1k a year doesn't mean the rest of us do. Hell I know guys that make the cap bustin of my family look like childs play.

Maybe you can write BO and see if he'll sign an EO stating each person can have no more than 50 rounds in thier AO. Hell, free stimulus ammo FTW.

God Bless America and the free market. At least whats left.

Well it's nice to see that maybe things are getting better.  I stocked up 2 years ago when I started reloading and I'm still using the supplies and I should be good till at least next year with what is left.  I have been lucky I scored some components here and there to add to my stock.  One thing I won't do is over pay for it.  This is a bad time to start reloading but hang in there it's a great hobby I love doing it.  Better times ahead.  When it comes to buying supplies for it though I would definitely buy as much as you can afford at one time.  Buy it by the thousands.  I used to buy the 100 round boxes of sierra match kings now I spring for the 500 round boxes.  I have .40 cal and .45 cal bullets sitting here that I paid a lot less for then what they are going for now.  It's not hoarding it's locking in to a price and making sure if there are supply problems you are covered.
