EFMJ = Federal's Expanding Full Metal Jacket.

The jacket encases the lead core and also a bit of (silicone?) that fills what would be the hollow point.
Externally it looks like a jacketed flat point.

I'm not aware of the bullets being available seperately.

Thanks.

I can remember "experiments" with filling hollow points with "stuff" and topping it with silicone so that the "stuff" would stay in there.

I have several hundred EFMJ in 9mm. Picked them up from widners when they were on clearance.

I was looking to try some of these after reading about then I guess they are only available as loaded rounds, the reason I asked is currently I use 124 FMJ from PD but they have no expansion so I was looking at these as a alternative to HP due to feeding issues

They will not cure your feeding issues. They have the same blunt nose of a hollow point, minus the hollow part.

So what would everybody recommend to feed my Sub-Compact 9 , like I said I currently am shooting 124 RN FMJ and have zero issues but also zero expansion

There is more to reliable feeding than bullet profile. Play with OAL, velocity, and powder burning rate.
