Follow the directions on the bottle for the Simple Green, I mix it pretty stout. If you google "clean brass with vinegar" it comes up with a bunch of mixtures for vinegar and salt. Plain vinegar works well too. As for the Dawn, I use it to degrease. I'm not sure if Simple Greene leaves anything on the brass, so I just clean it again.
It works well. |

I was using vinegar but it will tarnish the cases slightly, though it is just cosmetic.
Now I am using warm H20 with a chug of lemon juice and a squirt of Dawn. let set and stir occasionally for an hour. Then separate bulk of liquid out with a rotary separator and then repeat the process but with cool, clean water, then dry and follow up with polishing media if you want a real shine |

Heck, I'm certainly not up to the stds of this group. I tumble my brass for 1 hr in PetsMart crushed walnut with a pinch of Turtle Wax car polish in the media. Then I process them and it's back to the tumbler for 10 minutes to get the lube off. That's all. Some are shinny and some have stains on the brass, however, they are all clean and that's the only thing I'm looking for 'cause they get dirty again when they go Boom! |
