first time reloading varmint rounds for the AR and have a 40 grain speer boat tail hollow point load in mind that uses winchester 748 powder with 450 magnum cci small rifle primer.
Will my old colt rifle feed and work fine with this setup? Rifle is a colt 20 in barreled rifle length gas system.......... Scott |

Two things:
1.Are they really magnum primers? If so, you want to check to be sure you can use them in regular rounds, 2. 40 grainers would rather go through a slower twist than I'm guessing your barrel is. They want to go through prolly a 1/12 at least. You want to stick to 50 plus if your barrel is 1/9 or less. |
