I'm looking to start loading .357sig round......
Does anyone have some good advise for a newb with this round..... ie. case lube, set back, what powder, primer, bullet combo, any info would be great. I plan on shooting these reloads out of two different Glock(31 and 33). I know I need to use copper with the factory barrels, but has anyone had any success with lead and aftermarket..... Right now I have a clean slate and want to start out on the right foot.... Thanks |

Story I hear is no lube needed if you do the initial case body size with a 40 S&W carbide die, then use a 357 SIG die for the neck/shoulder only.
That is what I do for sizing/de-prime the SIG empties I find at range, I do not load 357 SIG, just collect the empties... |

BTW....have you re-load ammunition before?
Cause IMHO, it's easier to learn on a straight walled pistol case. Then move to a bottle necked case. The secret to loading bottle necked cases is the lube and "case gauge" to ensure that your cases have been properly re-sized. Aloha, Mark |

Lee resize die worked better for me than the RCBS. I haven't tried the Dillon carbide one, I may get that one next, although it is pricey. I use case lube. I've been using Berry's 9mm 124gr TC bullets, they work nicely for this application.
I have tried the following powders: Hodgdon Universal Clays (Good for medium loads, didn't function the gun at lower levels.) AA # 9 (fills the case well, most accurate at higher levels. LOTS of muzzle flash) Power Pistol (fills the case pretty good, good powder to push the bullet fast. also LOTS of muzzle flash) |
