I have noticed that when using car wax to clean cases, it helps keep them free of fouling moreso than when the case is first fired(IE factory round).
they also clean up a lot easier the second time around. is there any rime or reason behind this?

I tried Nu Finish once. I didn't like the slick feel of the brass.

I retumbled to remove the wax coating.

Remember cases need to grip the chamber when firing to cut down on bolt thrust.
