Hi guys,
I have about 800 45acp brass cases from PMC. I resized them all. The trouble is, when I check them in my Dillon case gauge, they won't seat flush. The trouble is with the rim size. The rim of the case is too big to fit into the mouth of the case gauge. Will this cause problems if I reload them? I assume no, since they were fired before and the rim size likely didn't swell. I've cranked my Dillon Carbide sizing die down as far as it will go. If I smack the case with the plastic end of a screw driver, it will seat fully. Is this crap usable, or is it really Pretty Much Crap brass? I've noticed it on SPEER cases also. |

they are crap. send them to ME where did you get the brass? shot it yourself-something isn't right. found it, bought it used-maybe needs to be trimmed. mouth over-belled, possibly. probably the culprit. |

Thanks guys.
The rim is oversized on the PMC. They all fired to begin with in our XD 45. So they're not mystery meat. You can check your brass by turning it upside down, and trying to insert the rim of the case into the case gauge. Typically, brass will fit into the opening to fit flush against the case gauge. PMC and SPEER have a slightly oversized rim that you have to force in. |
