Anyone else experience a slamfires using wolf small rifle primers, happened 3x with my ar with mixed brass mostly lc.
The wolf primers I have been using are the copper cup type, all seated to spec.

You're supposed to use the Wolf SRM primers.

Could you post more details about the circumstances?

Was it only when sending the bolt home on a new mag?

I think one of the other threads mentioned that the copper cup is there standard small rifle more for bolt guns.

Still scarey to have slamfires.

I read the whole srm thing after it happenned, Ive also read about the availability of special wolf 223 sr primers -but have yet to see any out there. The situation was on the 4th found of a mag, brrrr,  then it stopped. Ive not had this problem before, 100% sure that the rifle is not the culprit. I probably wont use the sr primers again, but I have only ever used winchester sr primers, with 8 to 10k of reloads and no slamfires ever.

No slam fires here with Wolf SRM or Wolf "223 rem" primers in my 223 loads.

I've been using the SRM's without issue. I thought the SR's were a no-no in AR's?

If it were a true slamfire, you would have it but ONCE.  Then the rifle will be toast.

2500 standard small rifle primers, in the heat, the cold and everything in between. No problems with slamfires. Are you seating them flush or just below flush?

Heed Widener's warning http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=7283&dir=278|284|737

Wolf Small Rifle Magnum primers have the same power as regular Wolf Small Rifle primers, but the cup is a little thicker and less sensitive.

no reason to NOT use the wolf SRM primers.  They work great in AR's and don't cost any more compared to the regular SR primers.

I just received my primer order from Powder Valley.  When I ordered small rifle primers they asked how I was going to use them.  When I said AR-15 this is what they recommended.  Have not tried them yet.

I have used the "223 rem" Wolf primers. They are fine.

I worked up to the same exact loads I use with the Wolf SRM primers.

A 53 OTM, 55 and 62 gr FMJBT, and a 68 gr OTM.

Don't worry, you are GTG.

That is what I am getting as well.
