How does one measure the chamber and seating depth, ie, allowing for seating just off the lands (without simple trial-and-error, which is the method I currently use)?

In order to use the Overall Length Gage you'll need the modified cases/s. Its also vital to use uniformly sized bullets, not just diameter and length but were the ogive begins.
Some rifle chambers are to generous ( distance to lands ) for a custom OAL to be of much use, if you load the round long enough to get close to the lands then it will not feed properly. |
