For one thing, chrome is harder then brass - a lot harder.  There is no way brass, rough or smooth is ever going to scratch chrome.

I got one of those RCBS case prep things too.  Mainly to use for primer pocket uniforming and inside flash hole deburring.  For those two operations the speed is good for me.  Drill press is just a bit too agressive.

Best inside case neck chamfer tool I've used is made by K&M.  Indexes on the case mouth and is dead nuts repeatable.  Outside, I use the one that came with the case prep center with light pressure.

I use the RCBS machine too. Trims, deburs inside and out all in one cycle. And it's dead-nuts on for length every time too......I like it.

Try using a little more pressure on the Trim Mate  and deburr it quicker.  If you feed to slowly it work hardens the edge of the brass and doesn't deburr it as cleanly.

I use the simple Lee tool to debur.  Takes about two seconds per case.

Possum Hollow makes a 'holder' for the chamfer / deburring tool that chucks up in a drill press. You can run through hundreds of cases in no time (a couple of seconds per case). Get it through Sinclair
