| I pulled a bunch of 69gr match kings and a bunch of 55gr silvertip's. I used the hornaday puller that left a small mark on some of the bullets that where harder to get out. Can I reuse those bullets without a massive change in how they shoot? Can I still use for hunting or are they just good for punching paper or plinking? The mark is not that bad but figured I would ask. |

Should be no problem at all.
The reason for bullet pullers is to reuse the bullet once pulled. Load and enjoy. I load and shoot SS-109's that were pulled with pliers. They have heavy pull marks. 10 shot, 100 yd groups go 2 to 2 1/2 inches with a non match, pulled bullet. |
| The 69 grain match kings are not suitable hunting bullets since their expansion on game will be inconsistent––-but I'm sure you knew that. The pulled bullets may not shoot quite as well as non-pulled in a match rifle, but for the most part you probably won't notice any difference in accuracy. |
| I have about 5,000 pulled. They were deformed a little more than I like, and I run some threw a bullet sqedge to straighten them. They don't shoot too great, but I always keep a few mags of them on hand cause they are dirt cheap, and when someone wants to shoot the AR and just waste ammo, there is no sense in giving them good bullets and varget, when they can get cheap bullets and powder. |
