Midway order arrives today (quick shipping BTW)

Got reloading tid bit to complete the set up, Crimp Die, Zip Trim, swage.

3:55 UPS arrives
4:05 Frankfort Arsenal Tumbler set up
4:15 High pitched whine and FAIL... It stopped and all you heard was the 60hz hum of electricity. It was not overloaded or anything. No Smoke No Flames, just an anti climatic fail. Which in reloading I guess is a good thing...

I called the Midway and they are shipping another post haste.
I laughed as did the customer service guy.

Your failure is generally referred to as an incident of 'infant mortality'.  That means that if an assembly has a serious defect that will cause it to fail, the likelihood is that it will fail early.  That's why many high reliability items are 'run in' after manufacture to cull out those with serious defects.

Good analogy. Once i get the replacement I'll take this one apart and try to repair. What the hell right. They said "keep it".

Oh and by the way I should be getting the first couple hundred rounds loaded this week. Stay tuned for my reloading saga.
Thanks guys.

Oh and Steve, you still suck... Showoff.

Man, you got a doozie. Mine's got ~100 hours on it with no trouble. I'm sure you'll have better luck with this one.

FYI, while we're on the subject of budget brass-tumbling - Petsmart is a great place to buy media, if you hadn't seen that tip already. Corn/walnut birdcage litter is dirt cheap.

Ive had my FA for quite a while (granted I cant use it right now) but I have left it running overnight MANY times w/o any problems....I added a few more venting holes in the base and have never had the slightest problem.

Ide probably buy a bigger one on my next purchase though.

Do not try to repair it - send it to the factory and they will replace it free of charge... I had one that was almost two years old when the motor burned up - I contact the factory for a replacement motor - they do not sell replacement parts, but they told me to send in my old one - I did and a couple of weeks I had the new replacement at my front door...

They are sending me a new one. They also said "Keep the one" that is broken too. They said it would cost to much in shipping, receiving, labor to look at and repair so they don't even want to bother.

So once I get the "new" new one,and I know it is fully functional I'll open it up the broken one and take a look, if it is not beyond my basic scope of knowledge I might attempt a repair or keep it for spare parts.

Midway gets an A+ in my book though. They made it right without hesitation of greif.
