I have reloaded for .45acp previously but only with jacketed bullets,  with prices going up, I thought I would give plain ol lead a try.  Any body have any experiences with these bullets, or the company itself?
I plan on getting some titegroup or bullseye to try out, but have HS-6 in the cabinet.

Any advice that I should take heed to?

TIA

I have ordered from them but haven't loaded them yet.  I got the 230gr RN and 9mm 125gr RN.  Ordring and delivery was timely...no issues.  Can't comment beyond that.

Good to go

as with any lead bullet, keep the velocity below 1000 fps and you will have little to no leading.

That design with the beveled base is my favorite for the 45acp

The flat base is a bit harder to load without shaving a bit of lead here and there.

45 is a great caliber for lead

i've shot hard cast all the way down to almost pure lead in 45.  Softer ones had been most accurate btw, with zero leading due to a good bore fit.

Missouri bullets, good price, good bullets.

I have shot thier 45 cal 200 gr SWC in 45 Auto with great results.

are there any powder considerations to think about since there are no gas checks?

or will proper bullet to bore, and proper lead hardness eliminate the need for gas checks?

Their communications skills are sub-par.
Bullets and prices are top notch.

For standard velocity handgun rounds gas checks are not needed nor really wanted.  Gas checks become useful when you are pushing velocities well beyond 1300 ft/s.

I've even shot plain based bullets at ~1800-1900 ft/s out of a caliber .30 rifle with no leading.  I did however heat-treat the bullets first.  Those were of 6% antimony and 94% Lead.

I reloaded at least 4 different types of lead slugs for .45.  To include one type that I made myself from wheel weights.  The biggest thing as has already been mentioned is to not load them hot, so that you will not get leading.

I use almost exclusively Bullseye powder for my pistol caliber loads, and am very happy with the results.  Others use other things and get great results.  A lot of it is personal preference.

Clean your barrel of old jscket fouling before shooting lead.  There is the potential for leading in a jacket fouled barrel, where a clean barrel would not lead.

thanks guys, I was told not to exceed 1000 fps w/out gas checks, this seems like it would be a pretty hot load in 45 acp w/ 200+ grn bullets.  I don't plan on loading that hot, but something more along the lines of what is required for IDPA, (I have no previous IDPA experience, but would like to give it a try).  If I work up an IDPA load, I think I might try reloading wolf cases, so I don't lose my precious brass.

I've used Unique, Pearl Scot (no longer available), N320 and Bullseye in my .45 lead loads.  Velocity between 850 and 950 FPS.  I get more bullet lube fouling in the action than leading.  Yes, I have had leading after hundreds of rounds.  Over 300 rounds.  By that time, the extractor on the 1911 is completely encased in dirty lube and everything is nasty.  The cleanest would be the Pearl Scot, then N320.  Unique is only dirty in that more is needed to get velocity than Bullseye.

The .45 is easy to load.  Just keep velocity within reason with lead so you only need to clean the bore when the rest of the pistol is gunky.
