Did some more work in the shop, this past weekend, finished building my top shelves, and added sink for brass washing and a hood for smelly stuff.

Just in time for Ike.

Damn I still need those dillon calenders up.

Yes, you must make it look somewhat messy so no one else gets any big ideas

NICE!

One question. Why the range hood over the sink?

the hood is for light & to suck out fumes when I start casting, in the near future...
and anything that I might use that has a smell. I'm going to build a top that will fit over the sink, and hold the equipment.

Guys thanks for the all compliments.
I could not have gotten this far without, all your help from these forums.

That hood looks like it's a ductless unit to me. I would never cast lead inside my house even using a vented hood. If you do duct it outside it would be sweet when using the ultrasonic cleaner. The room looks very nice, congrats!

Vents out the back yes sir....

There is no room in my house that clean and tidy. Do you have an obsessive/compulsive disorder?

Seriously that is one very nice setup. I wish I had the spare room, personality, and cash for a setup like that. All you need to add is an underground tube 50 yards out into the backyard for testing.

Maybe, we could get the Government to fund a new study?  For this disorder called..........

Please do not cast in there.
I used to cast in my dad's paint room, in front of a 4 foot exhaust fan,, till I got a bad case of lead poisoning. The fan wouldn't draw out the lead fumes.

Where's the washer & drier? And the furnace and hot water heater? Cob webs? It's not dim enough, either...... oh wait.......that's my corner of the basement reloading area I'm describing.

Very nice man cave you have there.

Nice setup

So do the shelves meet the SAAMI fire code of more then 20 lbs of powder needing to be in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1-inch nominal thickness?

I wasn't sure since you only have three sides.

Not that I care but I have a buddy who bitches at me all the time for not having a box.

here's the outside
its not in the house its a building I built out back, per wife's instructions, so she knows stay away, can't have.
yeah! I better check local or fed laws on the powder & primers. so lets just say there all empties.
Again all my ideas mostly came from all you peoples reloading areas.. thank y'all

still have the hardi board siding to put on.
I'm in southeast coastal region of Texas, so I don't know if Ike is going to let me keep her.
And hell yes I'm not going. (unless wife makes me or winds of more than about 75mph, I'm in a mobile home.

I really like your setup and I am thinking of something similar.

Two questions:

1. Do you have hot water out there? (noticed your sink has 2 handles)
2. Where did you get the overhead door from and what size is it?

Hope you come thru Ike ok, that's some nice work.

I can give you a 10.
