I just bought the Lee Classic Loader (hammer version) to load my 9mm.
For some reason, the bullets I'm using won't properly fit in the neck of the case.
When I seat the bullet and hammer them in, they go in at an angle.
There's no way I'm going to fire off those rounds I just loaded...

Are you using a neck-expander die before the bullet seating die?

My old version of that kit doesn’t have one, but I understand newer versions have a flaring tool.  Do you have one, and if so are you using it?

Also, are those plated bullets?  If so, you may need to go to jacketed ones.

And are you chamfering the case mouths?  That also should help.

The instructions say, "NOTE No flaring tool is supplied or required by... 9mm Luger. These must be chamfered to accept the bullet. Use a Lee Chamfer Tool or a pocket knife."

I dunno man.

I have a Lee 9mm die set (deluxe, with 4 dies), and die #2 is a case mouth expander.

You need to expand the case neck. I have no experience with the Lee Loader but I can imagine it must take awhile to produce cartridges.

If you are using plated bullets, note that they are very soft and easily damaged.  I suspect they aren’t going to work very well with this kit.

This is a totally different setup which (essentially) only has one die.

I only use the Lee single stage presses.  I sold my progressive along time ago.  I would sell whatever you have an buy something like a Redding, Hornady, Dillion, or comparable.

I am convinced that Lee reloading equipment is the Kmart of reloading.

The problem with the Lee Loader and pistol rounds is the fact there is no belling possible with this setup.  You will need a slight inside neck chamfering, using THEIR tool.  Then lightly polish the case mouth with 0000 steel wool to get the final burrs out.  Varmit Al shows how to make a simple polishing tool with a cordless drill/screwdriver and a nut driver attachment.  Just stuff a tuft of steel wool into the nut driver socket, mount the socket in the drill/screwdriver and give each case a few turns.

Varmit Al's Pages...VERY GOOD INFO

Why use the Lee tool?  Because it is not as aggressive.  You only need to do this once, unless you trim, then after trimming.  But you shouldn't need to trim 9mm.
