I just finished pulling some bullets and wanted some advice / opinions on using the components. I have never tried to use any pulled components. The ammo was some 300 whisper factory ammo that was not stabilizing in my rifle and I decided to pull it and reuse both the brass and bullets if possible.

Some of the brass will not quite pass the case gauge test so I guess that I will have to resize it. Can you safely use spray lube (with cases laying flat) or will I have to use something else? I will of course remove the decap pin when resizing.

The bullets that I pulled were 220gr SMKs. Some looked ok but some were pretty marked up. Some were even deformed during the loading process. I am attaching some pictures. Hopefully the picture quality is good enough for you to see what I am talking about. Would you reuse any of them? I did not include any in the picture that were not marked at all.

All the bullets pictured came from Corbon ammo.

Thanks,

Joe

I'll recommend using Imperial lube for this task, to keep spray lubes out of the inside of the cases.  Dab a little on the case mouth as each is sized to help ease the expander ball through, or you could take the expander ball out of the die for these cases unless they have bent necks.

The bullets will shoot and they're okay for plinking.  They might shoot okay for your accuracy needs.

If I need to disassemble rounds that I have loaded I save all components for re-use after inspection, even the primers.  I will generally use the rounds assembled from these components as fouling rounds at the beginning of a shooting session.

Same here.

I have shot a lot of pulled 62 gr SS-109 bullets with deep pull marks.

Purchased that way.

They shot just fine. 10 shot 100 yd groups 2 1/2 to 3 inches.

Thanks for the help. I will go ahead and see how they shoot.
