Just bought 1000 SS109 bullets for a decent price, and would like a decent loading for them.  Powder on hand is Varget and Benchmark, and would rather stay with one of those.

I have several reloading books, but none over the SS109 bullet.  Closest is a few 62 and 63gr bullets, but those are different from SS109 as they don't have the steel core.

These would be loaded into LC and IMG brass

Just load up using 62gr data and start at the minimum, working up. always!

I picked up 1000 SS109 USGI green tip pulls from the EE here and have been fiddling with them.  So far, they're not 'match grade' bullets, but they're fine for plinking.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I use 25gr varget in mine, works well for me. I get about 1.5" on average at 200 yds w/ this stuff. rips out a big 1" hole at 50 yards with a mag as well.. Hits at about the same POA at 50 and 200.

An older SS-109 thread, where I replied to this question.
