Just looking for plinking bullets. Cheapest I've found for 9mm so far is around 8 cents a bullet at midway for Ranier FMJ lead safe. Found some cast bullets from Missourii Bullet Co for about 5 cents a round. Does it get any cheaper than this? As for .223, cheapest is around 15 cents per bullet. Both of these prices do not include shipping. You guys finding anything for cheaper anywhere else on the internet? |
Aren't Hornady 55gr 224 FMJ/BTs like $70/1000? That's 7 cents before shipping, no? If you buy them in bulk, it's even cheaper. Check the EE here under RELOADING SUPPLIES. Flat Rate Box is $9.95 and you can stick a few thousand in one if you can go that route with say a private party sale. I just bought 1k of pulled USGI SS109s to fiddle with for blasting ammo and I think I paid $100 shipped and w/PP fee added in, maybe slightly less. Chris |
| Yeah, I was way off on the 15 cents business. These work out to about 8.8 cents a bullet. |

Last time I looked Missouri Bullet Co for lead bullets had the best deals going. But, I've never purchased from them. BEWARE some sellers have a terrible reputation for delivery. Perhaps someone could rate Missouri Bullet Co? But lead prices should be headed down? So, says the commodity markets. ______________________________________________ As for "new" 55 gr. FMJ bullets. Check with the usual suspects.........Widener's, Powder Valley, Pat's, etc........ BTW, Widener's has FREE shipping when you buy the "bulk box." That right there is a big help. _______________________________________________ BEWARE of some companies that sell "pulled bullets." Some folks have not been happy and others have......YMWV. Aloha, Mark |
How 'bout Grafs which is shipping inclusive. 1000 Hornady 55gr FMJ/BT Sounds like a winner to me. Chris |
Shipping inclusive? Shipping is $4.50 for 1000. This is definitely the best price so far, though. For 1000 bullets, it's 8.1 cents a bullet, shipping included. I know it's cheaper for 2000 but I'm in the market for 1000. Can anyone do any better than 8.1 cents a bullet, including shipping? |
Golden West needs to take a close look at their web page, it doesn't make much sense! Our price and the sale price are both HIGHER than the list price! ![]() 1000 Round 223 FMJ 55gr. List Price: $70.00 Our Price: $78.00 Sale Price: $75.00 |
You're talking 9mm, right? I just bought 1000 from Missouri Bullet Co. Worked out to 5.7 cents a bullet, shipping included.
What is OST? |
Yes, but these are factory Winchester FMJ bullets, not copper washed lead. |
I've ordered from Missouri before. Bullets are good, prices are good, BHN is tweaked for each caliber instead of being too hard. shipping and communication leave much to be desired. |
Good find. With shipping to CO these are 7.95 cents per bullet. Cheapest so far but not much cheaper than the Hornandy from Grafs though. Still the lowest though. |

Yeah, they have a $4.50 handling/insurance charge, but short of the USPS Flat Rate box, 1000 tips will generally cost you over $10, so you're really getting a decent deal here. Plus, if you order $500 or more, they knock 5% off the entire price, so check into that and place a big order if you can afford it. Key to internet ordering is doing stuff in bulk, if you can, to help offset the s/h charges. Chris |
I just tried sending my C&R to Black Hills to establish an account and they responded that they only sell to dealers. |
Send it to Grafs, you won't be dissapointed and they take C&R FFLs. |
|
That sucks! I thought they would sell to C&R's. |
I ordered some tips from Missouri Bullet yesterday and it shipped today. Maybe I just got lucky. |
I get the 200gr LSWC from Lone Tree locally for $40. so i'ts not too bad, plus I don't have to pay shipping. |
