been reloading pistol on a progressive for years. I got a bunch of 223 brass laying around and want to fill them up. having started on a progressive and never single staged,what do i need and the what are the steps for rifle loading??

everything you need to know is at the top of the reloading forum in tutorials. read that first, ask questions if it still isnt clear.

In a nutshell, case prep first then run through as you would your pistol loads

Many progressives can handle 223.

A lot will depend on the particular progressive press you own.  Some are easier to convert than others.  Not to mention parts availability for the change.  Some will have only three die stations and some will have more.   Also, it depends how you plan on dealing with military primer crimps and/or trimming operations.

PS........sometimes, the "progressive" can be used as a single station, IF that is how you want to do it.
