Well, I got my second order of stuff from Midway with a powder measure and some other bullets and stuff so I spent most of my Saturday making up some more loads to try out.  I also picked up a bipod so I was just itching to try that out too.  I made it out shooting for a few hours this morning at Tenoroc again.

A few with the Rem. 55 gr. SP's to work my way up to the max and see what they did, and then with some 55 gr. Hornady FMJBT and BL-C(2) from min. to max. to try out.

I came to the conclusion that my rifle just doesn't like the Rem. softpoints, I couldn't get a decent group out of any of the loads.  So they're out.  The Hornady FMJ's on the other hand shot really well.  About .2 grains under max was the best, and also the best group I shot all day.  I pulled a couple of shots, and still got a real nice group, for FMJ ammo anyways.  The bipod helped a lot, but I still need to get a rear bag to get really steady and see just how well this stuff shoots.

Here's the pictures from the days results...

The top left is the best load that I found with the FMJ's
27.4 grains BL-C(2)
CCI 400
PMC case...1.750"
Hornady 55 gr. FMJBT
COAL: 2.240"

And the shotgun like groups of the SP's.  The center is just some Federal Value Pack stuff and some PMC.

Sometimes a change of powder is required to get the best out a bullet.
