Doesn't matter if you're in a 25 rd state or a 10 rd state - ATI [the importer] is in New York State, where it is now illegal to have a magazine with more than 7 rounds...

What will GSG do now???

What will ATI do now???

10-rounders are OK as long as you only load 7 rounds.

Hopefully they are looking at moving to a better climate in regards to gun rights.

Who else gun wise is based in NY?  I think Kimber is, hopefully they're all planning on moving out asap.

(And screw redesigning the mags for NY.  Just don't sell them there.  Sell them to people in the 47 states that don't low-cap mag laws.)

What about Henry Rifles in NY?  All y'all NY gun companies should move to Louisiana.  We'll never have stupid gun laws.

Agreed it blows my mind that allot of big companies have their business in ban states.  Money talks louder than anything else, you want to send a message then take your company and the income it generates along with the jobs and that sends a message loud and clear to elected officials and the voters who support them.

The same thing they did when 25 rd magazines were illegal in NY.  Import them and ship them outside the state.  Same thing Remington does with non-ban-compliant ARs.

I don't think that will pertain to the importer and or manufacturer for this. There are gun factories in areas that have strict bans and sot dealers that deal auto weapons and silencers/suppressors. all of which have strict regulation and bans it is the ownership in most cases that is banned I doubt new youk is stupid enough to shut down a facilty that probably employs hundreds like ATI which is a distributer. They have trouble keeping jobs for their state as it is. Who know in this current climate of shit though.

New York didn't ram through legislation without due process; a governor with presidential ambitions did...

The Newtown massacre was the best Xmas gift that Cuomo could have asked for...

I do agree to this, but I still don't think they are dumb enough to start closeing what few jobs they have regardless of ambitions of anyone that has the power. I do agree that somthing is a foot and what is coming around the corner. we all must be ready to fight for our rights this is not australia or europe thank god and as long as I draw breath it will never be on my end!

I'm not going into the new law on here, but i am intamate with it.  Its 40 pages of extreme headache.  License to license sales (FFL to FFL) in state and out of state aren't affected, the big slam is between dealer to consumer for NY, so it will not stop ATI from importing and selling any capacity mag or ARs and all that etc.

They could just modify their shims.  They use shims to block the follower from extending past 10 rounds on their 22 round mag.

I recently bought 4 10 round magazines, ripped out the shims, and installed 22 round magazine springs.  Works just like the standard 22 round mags.  I went this route because 22 round mags were either non existent or way over priced.  I actually saved money by modifying the mags than buying the price gouged 22 rnd mags.

We don't have to modify any GSG-522, STG or AK magazines at all because those firearms are now banned in NY State for new purchase.  Anyone who already owned one prior to Jan 15, 2013 can register it with the state police once they release the registration form on April 15, 2013 and keep it.  They can also keep their 10 round mags, as 10 round mags are now grandfathered, but after April 15, 2013 they can only be loaded with 7 rounds.  Neat huh?

The GSG 1911 & 922 are also banned in NY because they have a detachable magazine and a threaded BBL.  We are working on NY versions of those.

None of this will inhibit regular distribution though, we can still sell all makes and models to other FFLs in and out of NY state.

Id rather see you "vote with your feet" and "get the hell out of dodge."

I moved from NY to NC for many reasons, not the least of which was their horrible tax and spend strategy, their anti-gun stance and the destruction of business by the unions...

I think its crazy for any businesses to continue to pay revenues to this state that is trying to put YOU out of business...

Agreed 100% I wont buy another product from ATI as long as they are in NY or any other company for that matter that is there.  I refuse to support that state in any way shape or fashion.
