Positive things first.
I enjoy my GSG-5 SD very much. I really appreciate ATI's presence on this forum. That being said ... I run a small business. From time to time I need ro return products to a vendor. Each and every vendor I deal with has provisions on their website to track the status of returns. ATI needs to provide this service. Now to my point. Along with my GSG-5 SD I purchased the drum magazine. The magazine was defective. I obtained an RA number and returned the defective magazine via UPS on the 26th of August. According to UPS, ATI recieved the defective mazgazine on the 30th of August. So far I have heard nothing from ATI, not even an acknowledgement that they recieved the defective part. Is there some way I can get an updated status? |

Yay! I finally got thru to ATI on the phone.
According to the representative they've had the drum for some time now (UPS says since August 30). They've had personnel problems in "that" department. They're in the process of training a "new" person. That 'new" person will have completed their training in about two more weeks. Sometime after that I can expect them to ship me a replacement drum. Smells like pasture droppings to me. How difficult can it be to receive a package, open the package , verify it's contents and then ship a replacement? I guess I'm quite a gluton for punishment, even though their Customer Service is non-existent I'm going out this afternoon and buying another GSG gun. My LGS just called to say they received a GSG 1911-22 today. I told 'em to hold it for me, I'd be right down. Soon as I post this, I'm outta here. |

Range report on the 1911 soon.
Okay, I recieved the replacement 110 round drum magazine yesterday. Exactly 30 days from the time ATI recieved the defective mag until I received the replacement. Customer Serivce at ATI needs to be improved. Turn around on defective parts should be days instead of weeks. Took the new mag out and shot it in my back yard ( I live in rural America). Loaded with 110 Federal Bulk Pack .22s: the second round failed to feed. Jacked at an angle on the feed ramp causing the bolt to not return to battery. All other rounds fired flawlessly with the exception of the 93rd round which suffered the same failure as the second round ... angled into the feed ramp preventing the bolt ftrom going intio full battery. I'm not too impressed with this gun and it's accessories. Feels like junk to me. I'll be surprised if ATI and GSG survive the long run. The American buying public will ultimately reject this substandard product. |

It was nice for the apparent ATI guy to ask for your RA number.....a reply would have been even better I guess.
The gsg's look like pretty neat guns......I'm jealous they have that big drum mag, wish/hope hk/walther/umarex comes out with one for their mp5 .22s! eta: at least the turnaround time to get your mag wasn't horrible, but I agree, it would be nice to know where in the 'que' you are. I just sent in an NC star dot sight under warranty and was wondering how long it was going to take. They got it back to me with a few weeks, which was surprising. Nice, but surprising. |
