Is there a way to remove the front sight on the GSG5? I'm at work thinking about it so I can"t grab the rifle and inspect it.

On the Gen 2 and above the front site post is removable because it has post inserts but the triple tree/sighthood is what supports the cocking tube. I was contemplating this myself some while ago when I was considering buying that scope mount that lays across the entire top and the cocking tube. The rear sight even has to come off, so the front sight hood looks kind of out of place. I was thinking of maybe grinding the entire sight hood down even with the top of the cocking tube. |
