has anyone ever thought to create a UMP45 kit for the GSG? maybe an Airsoft reciever over the existing one. would that work? has any one ever tried it? if it doesnt work, what problems would there be.
ive tried looking everywhere for someone who as done this and i couldnt find anything |
| I love the UMP/UMC's and was damn close to picking up a UMC a while back at a local shop. After researching the price of a UMC-UMP conversion I decided spending $2k on a donor gun and another $2k on parts and even more on tax stamps to SBR it was a bit more than I was willing to spend. As far as using a 10/22, It would probably be way easier as you can buy parts everywhere for dirt cheap and if you mess something up fabbing up a custom part you can always find another. The only thing that wouldnt end up looking right in the end would be the magazine, unless you made a faux hi-cap mag out of the factory 10rd mag since all of the hi-caps available for Rugers are way too bananna looking. |

If GSG hadn't shot themselves in the foot cloning the HK94 w/out paying the trademark fees to HK, we could have an UMP. And a .22LR: GSG G36, GSG HK416, GSG HK93. But they didn't and Umarex did.
I know that ATI announced some fall surprises from GSG (and no, not an MP44...) but giving the past suit - I doubt that its anything cosmetically resembling an HK. Maybe we can hope for a .22 "AUG", L85, Sterling (they already have the mag!) or FAMAS. Or maybe possibly an original Bundeswehr-looking G3 in .22, HK can't possibly claim that for their own. |
