This has probably been asked before but, is the pistol just the carbine without a stock and with a shorter barrel?

Yes, the GSG-5P is the carbine with a shorter barrel and an end cap rather than a stock. The GSG-5PK is a shorter version of the pistol. Here are the specs:
CARBINE CALIBER: 22 Long Rifle High Velocity CAPACITY: 10, 22 rounds, detachable WORKING SYSTEM: Semi-automatic recoil operated BARREL LENGTH - 16.29” OVERALL LENGTH - 33.6“ OVERALL HEIGHT - 8.15” OVERALL WIDTH - 2.36” WEIGHT - 6.7 LBS GSG-5P PISTOL CALIBER: 22 Long Rifle High Velocity CAPACITY: 10, 22 rounds, detachable WORKING SYSTEM: Semi-automatic recoil operated BARREL LENGTH - 9” OVERALL LENGTH - 18.6“ OVERALL HEIGHT - 8.15” OVERALL WIDTH - 2.36” WEIGHT - 5.89 LBS GSG-5PK SHORT PISTOL CALIBER: 22 Long Rifle High Velocity CAPACITY: 10 rounds, detachable WORKING SYSTEM: Semi-automatic recoil operated BARREL LENGTH - 4.685” OVERALL LENGTH - 15.275” w/flash suppressor OVERALL HEIGHT - 8.15” OVERALL WIDTH - 2.36” WEIGHT - 5.2 LBS |
| You're welcome fellow New Hampshire-ite. Your best bet IMO is to purchase the Carbine now while you're waiting for the Form 1 to clear (about a 3 or 4 month wait) and enjoy it as it is. When you get your stamp simply purchase the shorter barrel from ATI and install it. I think the pistol barrel is only about $40.00 or so. I'm currently waiting on a Form 1 to SBR my CA89 (MP5 clone) and hopefully it will only be about another month....but who knows. |
