This has probably been asked before but, is the pistol just the carbine without a stock and with a shorter barrel?

Thanks Uncle!

My plan is to buy the carbine or pistol and send in the app to SBR it. I wanted to make sure there were no physical differences between the pistol and the carbine except the stock and barrel so I'd know which way was better to go..

You're welcome fellow New Hampshire-ite. Your best bet IMO is to purchase the Carbine now while you're waiting for the Form 1 to clear (about a 3 or 4 month wait) and enjoy it as it is. When you get your stamp simply purchase the shorter barrel from ATI and install it. I think the pistol barrel is only about $40.00 or so. I'm currently waiting on a Form 1 to SBR my CA89 (MP5 clone) and hopefully it will only be about another month....but who knows.
