I think I want a GSG, but I cant decide........

Im pretty sure the "K" model is the coolest looking and feeling, as far as weight and fun-factor. It also seems like it would be the most useless model, being more of a range toy than any of the others. All I would do is buy some mags and get a single point sling.

The carbine looks nice, and is usually the cheapest from what I have seen. The fake suppressor is, in my opinion, a little cheesy looking, but this model would look awesome with a retractable stock added. Its also a little more useful for the range and varmint hunting.

The SD version looks the most "authentic HK" since it doesnt have the cheesy suppressor, but its also the most expensive. And its not out yet. I would add a retractable stock.

The P pistol version is my least favorite, and it seems like it would be pretty useless as anything other than a range toy. They are usually cheaper than the others though.

I want something that looks cool, is fun to shoot, and would work decently for plinking cans or close range varmint killing. I have a .22 single shot rifle for more serious hunting/plinking so this is more of a toy than anything else. What do you think, which one is the best all around option?

pk's are accurate and wont just be a range toy if you wont treat it like a range toy.

5PK, SBR it, and add a vert grip and folding stock.  That is the coolest looking set up INHO.

None of the above. I had a PK and had nothing but problems with it right of the box. FTFs, FTEs, jamming you name it and it didn't matter what ammo I used the damned thing wouldn't work half the time. I ended up selling it and buying a real gun, an AK47.

These are my two GSG-5's...  I enjoy them both!  I have had NO problems with either and I have owned both for roughly 4 months and each have 1000+ rounds through them!  I think the GSG-5PK is a bit mor fun, but I love them all...  Including the models I don't own yet.  Good LUCK!  Happy and Safe Shooting!

He's Trolling.

He has more time behind the computer now because he can't afford rounds.

From a GSG-5 to an AK huh?  Sure you were looking for a 22LR in the first place?

I had 2 carbines - sold one of them since I ran short on $$.  Wish I didn't have to, they both work great (gen 1 & gen 2).  If you plan on doing an SBR I would go the PK route for sure.  I bought mine before the PK came out.  If I had it to do again, I'd have a Carbine and a PK.  Good luck =)

Anyone have pics of an SBRed 5P versus an SBRed 5PK?

In the future I'd like to SBR a GSG, but can't decide which length I'd want to go with. In the mean time though, I picked up a standard GSG-5 carbine to fill my GSG need.

With the luck I've had w/ my PK rthe last two weekends, I think you should add another choice to the vote. This gun is not designed to be a single shot weapon.

I dont have any pics of the two to compare, but to me i would def. sbr the pk first.
