I recently got my first GSG-5 and when I was putting it back together today I fubared it. I screwed the bolt stopper into place but I think I may have stripped the screw because it won't come back out. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can get the bolt stopper  out? I tried to take the bolt carrier totally apart but I don't have the correct sockets.

Use a pair of needle nosed vise grips to unscrew it while you apply pulling pressure. The screw contacts a nut that is locked into the bolt carrier and can be eaily replaced. No need to make this screw super tight. It just holds the carrier in place while the bolt moves within it.

Thanks. I'll have to go pick up a pair of needle nose vise grips. I hope this works.

Update, I stripped the screw that screws into the bolt stopper so bad that I had to take the bolt carrier apart and saw the screw in half. Now I need a replacement. My local lowes store didn't have screws that were small enough. Does anybody know the where I can get a replacement screw? or atleast the measurements?

I can send you a screw. Give me a day or two to find a nut. I'm gonna be out of town today, but let me know if you think the nut is OK. I'll get you one out tomorrow if you don't need a nut.

Should be able to find that nut at local hardware store. It's 4mm and that's a very common size for them to carry.

WTF...I bought the upgrade screw set and included everything besides the nut. OMFG!!!!! This rifle is really pissing me off. Does anybody know where I can get the nut for the bolt stop? I have the screw but need the nut.

If you can't find a 4 mm nut for your 4mm screw why couldn't you just substitute an 8-32 screw and its associated nut. The 8-32 nut is just a hair smaller than the 4 mm nut but should fit into the well and not rotate. If you're changing the screw and nut there's no reason for this to be metric.

Correct, but you should have no trouble finding a 4mm nut locally. It's usually the smallest size they carry at a hardware store or Lowes or Home Depot etc.

I got a 8/32 nut and the nut is too thick for the bolt case to close I'm going to head over to Ace and I'll post the results.
