So after lurking on this forum I finally purchased a GSG-5. Was only able to get my hands on a PK. I am having terrible luck with the gun.... I haven't been able to put a single magazine through the gun without a malfunction. I painfully fired 200 rounds through it yesterday (winchester hv ammo) I got home thinking maybe it just needed to be cleaned really good. I stripped it down cleaned it and put a little CLP on it. I returned to the range today(with some wildcat 22 ammo) and I am still having trouble with it. It's doing two things that seem to be related.... It will either feed another round into the chamber but not cock the gun resulting in a pull of the trigger with nothing happening (which pisses me off because in order to solve this problem you have to take the mag out and clear the chamber) or it will just not chamber the next round. I am a gun nut and I've never had a new gun malfunction this much on me. What do you guys suggest...........?????

Many posts show that the GSG lineup prefers the Federal bulk pack ammo. No clue if this will cure your ills or not, but it certainly can't make matters worse, IMO.

Is the Winchester copper washed or plain old lead?

I put a old box of wildcats thru mine not one jam. Mine is a new gun. I grabbed a few boxes from Wally World to run thru it since my other GSG I had loved them.

well there goes any hope of it just being an ammo problem

It definitely sounds like an underpower problem, try some 40gr mini mags.
When you cock the gun does it feel smooth or do you feel some binding or resistance?
Pull the bolt carrier set out the back and look it over, does the bolt move freely and smoothly with the carrier out of the gun?
If minimags don't work then I have a feeling something is binding up inside.
Let us know what's going on, we'll figure it out and ATI will fix whatever is wrong anyway.

Apparently my GSG-5 is a bit particular about what she likes to eat...... She's like a girl who refuses to eat anything but Ruth's Chris.. I got on my knees and dug around in the back  of the bottom of my safe where I stockpile ammo. I found some Remington golden bullet ammo and some CCI mini mags. I headed out to the range prepared to be disappointed again. Much to my surprise all the ills of the previous two days of shooting seemed to be gone. It was as if someone swapped my gun overnight. A gun that would malfunction 6 times in a ten round clip 24 hours ago performed flawlessly (almost). I started shooting the mini mags first and she loves 'em... not a single malfunction. I switched to the remington golden bullet and she performed perfectly but with one exception.... On the last round with the Remingtons the slide would not lock back. If you didn't count your rounds you would dry fire the gun when it was empty. I am now convinced that there is nothing wrong with the gun.... She's just as another poster claimed "a fussy little bitch." I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate the advice....... Now I can focus on what's important.... Blowing the rest of my disposable income on Accessories!!!!!!!!!!

I think once you get some rounds through it she'll loosen up and feed a lot more types of ammo. Mine used to jam when it got down to the last 10 or so rounds in the mags ( the mags have a slight imperfection that makes the follower stick around that point ) sanding, lubing, scraping made no diff in 3 or 4 of the mags. Now all 5 feed with hardly any problems at all, I didn't even notice it, it just got better gradually.
22LR doesn't have a lot of OOOOMPH to it, any little glitch will cause problems till the parts wear in.
