Hey guys,

Sorry if this was answered waaaay back.

Knowing that this is a .22, what is the "recommended" regularity to cleaning of the gun? Semi-annually?

I'm assuming the barrel is also stainless steel. Thanks!

The owners manual states to keep the gun in immaculate condition and clean after use.

That being said, It all depends on what quality of ammo you shoot, how much you shoot and how particular you are about your guns.

*I* clean ALL my guns after each range/match session. Some are detail stripped, some just have a wet patch run thru the bore & then dry ones until they're clean coming out. My .22's usually just get the bore patch & I do wipe out the chamber & bolt on the rifles.

I do a quick clean using a Bore Snake, then a more thorough one later.
By the way, the .22 Bore Snake for a pistol works in the GSG-5 (the weighted rope is long enough), so that saved me some money since I already had one for my 22LR converted SIG P226.

I clean my weapons every time I shoot them. But for the heck of I didn't clean it
The last two times which = 1200 rounds. The last 200 rounds out of the last 1200
gave me few lite strikes from all the crud spackled on the bolt face!!

I appreciate all the views, guys.

I would think the .22 wouldn't leave as much residue as my AR. I'm thinking a wipedown and bore-snake should suffice between full-breakdowns shooting federal bulk pack.

Thanks all
