| Ok I must be slow or something I got me a GSG Collapsible Stock and for the life of me I can not figure out how it works. Is there a button or what to make the stock slide in and out I am a big boy and do not want to crack the stock from pushing on something to hard |
Just received my CA retractable stock (A173M). There are three parts in a small zip-lock bag that come with it: (1) one looks to be some sort of sling adaptor that fits into the two holes at the top left side of the end cap; (2) one is a rectangular pin about half an inch long with two round pins out the side; and (3) one is a small piece of spring steel bent at a 45 degree angle. There were no instructions shipped with my stock. Can anyone shed some how/what/where light on these parts? |
| The small parts are for an airsoft version which keeps the stock from sliding all the way off. The heavy steel loop IS indeed a sling loop, works great too. Just back that end cap off a bit and slip the sling loop into those holes, then put the end cap back on, it traps the sling loop between the cap and the end of the receiver. |
+1 I just got mine as well, and for the life of me couldn't figure out what those little parts were for. My stock does have a lot of up-and-down wobble to it; I thought people were reporting it to be pretty solid for a collapsible? I'll probably eventually get the UMP style folder for it. |
There is some up and down but the Classic Army version is mighty sturdy even with the wobble. With the UMP/BT folder you trade the super coolness of the collapsible for a rock steady lock-up and a cheek-weld that is almost as good as the OEM stock. I have em both I like them both a LOT but the UMP/BT folder from Classic Army is the one that stays on for shooting, the collapsible just shows up for photo ops lol. The folder is also about an inch longer than the collapsible which is about an inch shorter than the OEM. |

Sorry - gotta ask one more time about the sling adaptor that comes with the CA collapsible stock. The stock itself fits to the GSG-5 beautifully, but there is no way (at least on mine) that the sling adaptor will fit. I tried all variety of orientations and it is clear that something is going to have to be modified somewhere if it is to be made to fit. Does anyone have a photo of one of these properly installed (or being installed) for reference? |
Mine just arrived yesterday from Cobra. Looks like they are still in stock... Edit: Oops, sorry - you said folding, not collapsible. |
Excellent - thanks, Boomka! After fiddling with mine a bit more last night I did indeed find the intended orientation of the sling adaptor, just as you have shown, but whatever person or machine fabricated my little piece of wire must never have seen a GSG-5 - it was so poorly formed (wrong angles and wrong lengths of the bends hat |
