Hi. I got my GSG-5 about a month ago and on my first two trips to the range it has been almost flawless with less than 5 misfires in over 750 rounds.  However, on my last trip to the range I started having problems right away.

The problem is in the extraction or ejection of the fired round.  After a round fires, the casing usually gets stuck in the breech and crushed before it can be fully ejected.  I think this could be due to 1 of 2 possible reasons:
1) the small extractor clip that sits next to the firing pin is not holding onto the ejected round long enough to get it all the way back to the metal ejector piece that ejects the round from the breech.
2) the metal ejector piece is not properly aligned with the bolt so the casing is not exiting the breech properly.

Have any of you had a similar issue?  I am using the same types of ammo that have worked well before, (CCI minimags, Remington Golden Bullet, Federal Value box) and all are having the same issue.  I would say that this happens more than 50% of the time and when a casing is able to eject its like it barely falls out of the gun instead of forcefully exiting the breech like it has in previous range sessions.

By the way, there is no issue with feeding of the next round, the next round almost always feeds into the chamber from the magazine but the bolt cannot properly close due to the stuck casing that gets crushed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Is it better to contact GSG or ATI about this?

Did you use different type of rounds?

I had some CCI Mini mags jam (fail to load properly) my P22 due to excessive wax residue on the bullet head.

I am getting the same problems. Mine is also crushing the spent case between the ejection port and the bolt.

I had the exact same problem. It is the ejector coming loose. The way it is just staked on can cause it to come loose. I ended up sending it to Ray Canton who replaced the ejector. I haven't had that problem since.

Yep, 100% the ejector is coming loose.  It is just pressed on one side, inside the breech-housing.  Take your breech housing apart and use some kind of epoxy and press it back on.  I tried to use red locktite, but that doesn't work too well.  I don't know what you can use to bond 2 pieces of metal together.
