Not mine.

"It's an old SD front end from a SW5 that was left over from years ago. I haven't seen another in years. A lot of dremmeling work."

Thanks for posting my GSG-5SD for me Jackal. You have really done a great job on this GSG forum for all to learn and enjoy.

I sent you another email, but I'll ask you here.  A SW5 is a "Special Weapons" real HK clone?  You used the front end off that?

So is that a real muffler? or just a shroud?

Gotta be one of these.

Jackal- Yes, the SW-5 was/is a 9mm HK clone. I never had one - this part was just laying around. My friend used it to prototype a real SD front end for an HK. So with a lot of accurate dremmeling it fit on the GSG. It's on solid.

The CA A173M stock was minor dremmeling of the inside and is rock solid. It has less wobble than my real HK retractable stock. I have no experience with anything airsoft so I don't know what to recommend.

Got Guns - Not yet, I wish it was a real muffler. Probably later.

SOG

My2cents-

Wow, good find. I think it is just that. Again, it was my friends for a prototype for his real SD. He wants to make me a full metal front end, but I don't think it's worth it. This is the one I have the GF use when we go plinking. My GSG-5 is just like Jackals.

Sweet!

I just ordered one of those shrouds for my SW 45.

If its as good as it looks I'll probably get another for my GSG

How much dremmeling are we talking? Where was the dremmeling done?

I can't tell you much other than what I see in the pic.  The handguard needs to be dremeled out, as you can see in the pic, in order for the charging handle to move.
What else is needed, I have no idea.

the one I got for my SW45 would need dremeling for the sharging handle, and at the top front area to slide it all the way back to the receiver.

Also internally to enlarge the barrel hole if keeping the fake can on.

Looks pretty easy though, my only real concern is there is no collar. But I think the vertical screw under the barrel could be used to lock it down.

I know some of you guys like it but to me, it looks inordinately large and dwarfs the rest of the gun.

Cool mod, but I still prefer rails with panels.

+1

Looks ridiculous.

Honestly, it does seems to be a visual difference.  It's the barrel length.

vs. a standard?

There is a difference. It's the 16" barrel. I'm sure you guys can do something about the law and change it so it looks like the real thing and more to your liking.

FYI - I did use a longer bolt to secure it tighter at the barrel screw. It takes dremmeling the inner ring, the bolt latch area and lengthening that same area as well. It is a long process of grinding a bit at a time.

Again, my friend who has a real SD wants to make his GSG and mine into a real can at the standard length. I just don't think it's worth it. These GSG's are fun for spraying cats of the porch.

anytime you use toy parts on a firearm, it looks gay as hell....

airsoft toy parts+.22 plinker designed to look like submachine gun = a .22 plinker with airsoft toy parts .

It will never be more than a plinker, despite people puting KAC replica airsoft rails, fake lasers, tactical lights, short barrels, super death rays, OPTICS and no matter how many chest rigs, and tacital nylon slings and magazine carriers you use with your swat gloves, swat vest, and helmet, 511 pants and knee pads, IT WILL STILL BE A .22 PLINKER...

I dont think that anyone has said that it is anything other than a plinker...

Correct me if I am wrong.

Uh, I am not under the illusion that this is a SHTF weapon.  I think most of us who put airsoft stuff know that going in.  Come on, I bought it because it's a good and cool looking plinker. I have no qualms telling people that there is airsoft stuff on it.  The fact is that there isn't an accessory market for these and if you have stuff that works - why not put it on your .22?

BTW - who makes an airsoft death ray?  I want to buy it.

What, are you guys saying my GSG-5 won't kill the hordes of zombies when they zombie walk/run to my home?

Oh wait, until I get my sights fixed - yep, them zombies are safe!
