They certainly are. I still like the older ones better but I had to pick up one of the Pearl Harbour Commemoratives.

I picked up a KaBar blade a fews years ago at a funshow for $5.00. Someone had tried to braze a bolt onto what was left of the original tang and they had sanded it up to remove the original finish.

So I had a piece of flat stock brazed onto the stub, polished up the blade a bit more and use a chunck of nice maple for a handle. It's now my favorite knife. I use it in the kitchen all the time.

Well I do keep it nice and sharp.

And when I want to trim extra fat from a steak or cut a round steak into cubes for stew this is the knife to use. Why bother buying fancy Ginsu knives when you have a sharp KaBar?

Yeees sir...I like this knive.

Bad news about MY KA-BAR. I showed it to my dad and he said something like "This is what we used in the USMC!" needless to say....it is now HIS KA-BAR. OH well. [>Q]

That's okay. They still make them so get yourself another. Even better, use this as an excuse to get an even better knife.
