I didnt think thats something that couldbe done.
yove seen the inside of them before? theyre standard spring designs. the LUDT uses a spring identical to M16 burst spring. the HALOs use a small wire dia long extension spring. I have the MT tool to take them all apart. no balls to take my HALOs apart the MT tool is my most recent purchase. wanted that for years and finally got it within a few hrs of it going on sale by chance |

I roll the knife slightly and use my pointer finger to retract it. I find my thumb is fine to deploy but my longer pointer makes it easier to get leverage coming back

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: I’ve been trying to justify an Exocet for about a year now. Just how useful is it? How do you typically use it? For only having it a few days ill say that it will do any light tasks just fine like opening boxes and stuff like that. Which is most of what my stuff sees. I think its also cool that they can be used as a money clip. Which ill probably use that feature sometime. My thoughts: I bought this because of the bounty hunter theme, blade design, and just to collect. The action is easy on the exocet compared to my ultratechs, not that the ultratech is hard. The handle fills my hand nicely (large to xl gloves is what I wear), so this might be a better option than a UTX-70. I'd say if you already have a few microtechs an exocet isn't bad to add to the lineup. If you don't like it you can just sell it. |

Love the BH style. Wish I had spent the extra $2xx for it on my Combat Troodon. Probably wouldn't have felt so bad after I dropped it getting out of my car yesterday...

Curse you, ARFCOM, you're taking all my money.
Don't need it, questioning it's utility, but damn it just calls to me. Exocet in OD should be here by the end of next week. Attached File |

Been wanting a Microtech for some time now. Finally said what the hell and bought one.
Attached File Attached File I still want a drop point Scarab, though. I think the drop point blades are more useful compared with the other fancy stuff. |

The knife I have no need for, haven't really figured out what I'm going to do with it, but goddam it speaks to me came today. Sharper than George Carlin's wit, as compact as a shetland pony, fires like a Colt Python, slimmer than Riley Reid's ass.

I just got this Ultratech. It is a very nice knife. I have been carrying and using a UTX copy at work without any issue with the mechanism. Stepped it up and bought this because of a nice discount.

Does anyone have a table of model numbers?
Example: 122-12AP is a black Ultratech D/E with apocalyptic finish and one full serrated edge. 147-10 is a black UTX-70 D/E with a stone wash finish I’m really interested in a Dirac Delta (227) but it’s a pain sorting through the second set of numbers to find the features. |

Thanks to this thread mentioning the Service Personnel Program, it won’t be long until I have my first Microtech. Now, if only Virginia could get its shit together so that I can make it my daily carry.

you guys got me.... I just ordered an ultratech. serrated on one side, edge on the other. I'll carry it for a couple weeks and if I like it maybe I'll start collecting these things.
Nice collections everyone! |

I’ve been looking around for a couple of months for someone to have one in stock. |

How do you like that Delta? I would have ordered one of those instead of the ultratech if I had known they were bigger.

Quoted: How do you like that Delta? I would have ordered one of those instead of the ultratech if I had known they were bigger. View Quote I like it a lot. The ergonomics are awesome. The switch is right near where your thumb would naturally end up when you pull it out of your pocket. And despite the large size, it feels more slender and contoured compared to the other big Microtechs. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted this or an Ultratech. My first is a UTX-70, and it’s a great little scalpel - fits well with a suit or business wear. Also fits in the watch pocket of your jeans. I handled a Combat Troodon and a Scarab side by side. Scarab had a really heavy weight to action, and both were just massive handles. I found an Ultratech at a local dealer when I came to TX, and it wasn’t as slender as I’d expected coming from the UTX-70. It kind of felt like a light saber rather than a stiletto. I tell you what’s really nice - the Hera. The action is super light and smooth, and the clip has a ball that rolls rather than tearing up your pants. Too bad the blade is kind of short (3”). If they scaled it up to a 3.5” blade and a 4” handle, I think it’d hit a sweet spot. |

I've had a UT D/E now for about 6 months. I carry it everyday and does little tasks for me (I.E. Boxes, cut strings, rope and daughters drink straws to fit kid size cups) but it's felt dull since I got it. I never really noticed until I got my Exocet BH tanto blade. That thing is SHARP! It will shave hair off like a razor blade. Are the D/E blades just that much duller from the factory or do I have a dud?

Well I’m sending in my UTX-85 to get repaired, I broke the action spring after 1.5 years of EDC carry. Microtech is covering the repair under warranty and will also be sharpening, cleaning, and oiling the knife. I do have to pay for the shipping to them, which is just OK IMO. Quoted turn around time is 1.5 months

I actually sent mine back within a few weeks of owning because I was so disappointed in the sharpness. I even asked them to make it as sharp as possible. I received it back and it was exactly the same. The tip is crazy sharp but the edge on both sides is nowhere near as sharp as I expected or compared to almost any other decent knife I’ve ever bought. Nature of the D/E beast I guess? |
