Was hoping for some help on this, not sure which Cold Steel SRK knife I have.

Was going through some of my random boxes of mostly gun related parts and came across this SRK I acquired a few years ago.  I dont have the box and I do not know much about the SRK model line.  It has a brass insert for the lanyard hole, and says Japan under the SRK engraving.  Looking at the various models of SRK some have white laser engraved marking, this is just a deep engraving with same black finish in it.

First thought it was the VG-1, but the photos have a stainless insert not brass so that threw me for a loop
Wanted to know model so I can either sell it off since its just taking up space, or if it isnt worth much just hang on to it maybe find a use for it.

Thank you

Aichi's AUS-8A (really just AUS-8) from Japan, perhaps?

Cold Steel SRK variations...

afaik, the only differences are in the steel used.  i know they have vg-1 and 3v models.   not sure how you'd tell the difference between the two, other than trying to sharpen them.  if it takes f-ing forever, it's 3v

AUS-8(A), San Mai III, Carbon V, VG-1 and 3V.

All have Kraton handles.  Some pics show a brass lanyard hole, some a silver, but that could just be the lighting.  3V and Carbon V are 'made in the USA.  AUS-8, San Mai III and VG-1 should be 'made in Japan.'

Older San Mai III has a core of AUS-8 and newer San Mai III has a core of VG-1.  San Mai III blades were never coated, for obvious reason.
