I have a full size Seal and a Seal Pup Elite, what are your thoughts on these blades: thanks.

Depends on how old they are. I have a SEAL from 1994 and a Tigershark from 2007 and they're beasts, newer ones are as nice. Seems like they raised the price lowered the quality to cash in on thir reputation. This gave them a new reputation and it isn't a good one.

Both of these are older ones, I was just curious. Both blades stay very sharp and last. I appreciate your input.

I agree with sixnine. I have an old SEAL 2000 from back when they were produced in Seki, Japan. It's a beast. I've read the follow-on version produced in Taiwan isn't as good, but haven't tried one myself. I almost got a SEAL Pup, but instead purchased a Cold Steel SRK in Carbon V (which is long since discontinued). It's the one I actually carry when camping, hiking, or whatever. The SEAL is just too big, unless you're seriously wanting to knife fight. lol

I have a Seal 2K, made in Seki, Japan.  Current stuff now comes out of Taiwan.  I don't know if anyone has done a metallurgical analysis to compare them, but the general opinion is that the former stuff is better.  IMO, I don't think the company is what it was.

This is a pretty common opinion.

Great stuff can be made in Taiwan but Crkt and Sog are not it

The new SEAL 2K is a cheap imitation of the original.  Not nearly as robust.
