| Per the subject, I am in seek of your help in finding an upgrade to my current EDC blade. Which is a Benchmade Griptillian with a serrated blade edge, 154 CM blade steel, + a drop-point shape. The Griptillian has served me well in the last year. However, I would like to drop a bit of coin on a nicer knife for a lack of better words. |

Think about what you need in a knife.
-Is low maintenance important? Maybe you want a rust resistant blade metal... -Do you do any prying (shudder) with you knife, or do you want a better slicer? -What kind of lock do you want? is one handed opening AND closing important? -Do you want a flipper, thumb-stud or thumb-hole? -For an EDC is slim and light important? -What handle material do you want? -What blade shape do you need? What type of cutting/slicing do you do most? -What blade length is legal where you are and what length do you want? -Are you willing to spend more time sharpening to get a blade that lasts longer, or something that sharpens quicker but dulls faster? -What is your budget? The best recommendation I have is consider what you want and need, and try to go handle as many knives as you can. Some people will recommend zero tolerance knives, and while they are excellent knives I don't care for the thick blades and weight of most of them. But I'm not a heavy user and prefer a more precision slicer, which is a thinner blade and is usually a lighter knife. No matter what knife is suggested to you there is someone out there that bought that knife and didn't like it. |

I'm a benchmade fan and would stick to them. They have plenty of options in all price ranges above your grip. I tried to like zt knivesthey are great knives but for some reason I always go back to my benchmades. My new favorite I recently got was a benchmade auto presidio they make it in non auto too. Similar to your grip with the axis lock but aluminum handle.
If your budget is a little higher I would highly recommend a Grayman dua or satu. Or my all time favorite edc is my Medford 187rmp. |

If you are interested in this I have one that I'm letting go of. PM me and we will make a deal. I generally carry a Strider, Hinderer, Spyderco or Chris Reeve knife anywhere I go. I always carry two knives but one of them is for sure to be one of those brands. |
