I've never owned a microtech before, and i found a SICK deal on one on gunbroker, so I picked it up

It's a Tanto Ultratech new in box and it only cost me $151 including shipping

Damn good deal....   I got one in trade a couple of yrs. ago. Days after I got it. I was at LGS and Microtech dealer offered me $300 for it, and i sold it, and spent that on a IR laser. Wish I still had it now. It retailed for $400+ and I loved hitting the switch. But I had, have a Benchmade auto as a EDC for 8yrs. so I sold it. but yours makes me miss it. Some day I get another I loved the quality. I need another trade or deal like yours...Nothing like an OTF.....

Like most all Microtec knives, too damn pretty to carry and use. Beautiful knife though.

I have the same knife and carry it everyday.
Once it gets gummed up from cutting boxes open(tape glue),  and whatever other crap gets in there just throw it in the dish washer, then spray some lube in it and its all good again.

mailman dropped it off today

Pre-review first impression: HOLY CRAP, this thing is beautiful! Having owned a few of the knockoff "clones" i can say with absolute certainty that they do not deserve the term clone. This knife came sharper than any out of the box knife i've ever owned, has a higher level of fit and finish than any non-custom I own, and locks up MUCH tighter than the "clones". It also fires much harder

My biggest worry was that it would be too small. It's not. I am a big fan of large knives for carry. Most of my daily carry knives are 3.5"+ so i was considering the combat troodon for the longer blade, but i'm glad i didn't. The ultratech tanto blade is the perfect length. It's long enough to be lethal if you find yourself in a nasty situation, but not so long that it isn't comfortable in my pocket.... i love it!!!

Some of this will be reproduced in my actual review, but there will be more info, comparisons, and pictures. Tune in for the sequel

I've seen them on sale before at a knife shop I like to look at, they can go down to 150 depending on the model and I always talk myself out of buying one. Then every time I regret it... I am going to get one next time they are on sale.
