Some models only have a scale on one side of the handle.  What would be the reason for this?  Thanks.

Frame lock, for the blade, on then non-scale side.

Yup, models with scales on both sides are liner locks.  Models like the 0560/0561 that only have a handle scale on one side are frame locks.

It looks strange.  I guess I better find one to handle before making up my mind.  Thanks.

It may look strange, but it's fairly common for frame locks...since well if you put a scale over the frame you have a liner lock now.....  It's pretty common place, frame locks are good to go!

Frame locks are generally stronger due to having more material than a liner. They do have trade offs though. I hate metallic scales with a passion. Here we get weather ranging from -15 all the way up to 115. I can't put into words how much I appreciate G10 after just a few moments in the summer heat or winter cold. Not to mention the added grip when you're cutting a hose off a car in a junk yard when it's 100 degrees out and you're sweating by the gallon. The 0300 series uses a textured frame lock, but the Hinderer designs and most every other frame lock does not.

I feel the 0350 has an ample liner thickness for anything I do with it, and stays grippy and consistent in temperature. That may not be a concern for you though, so take my words with a grain of salt.
