I have both.

I really like the folder, solid lockup, mine has been stonewashed.

I like the fixed blade, but recontoured the pry bar to my liking and polished the spine all the way around.

Tough little knives.

I have one. It's ugly so I wear it as a work knife. I do construction/home repair so I beat the hell out of it.

Durable as a working tool. Mediocre as a cutting tool.

For military or urban use, I'd give it a thumbs up.

This.

That pry bar will rip up anything it comes in contact with...like your other gear, clothing, etc.

The fixed blade is the only knife I've ever regretted letting go. But had a buddy deploying in need and didn't wanna give him junk...

I've got the folder.  It's a good sized knife and I like the way it looks.
I also like the bottle opener, glass breaker, etc. I think they're neat little add ons.
I called DPX when I got mine and ordered a black pocket clip for it, it's less flashy than
the silver one that came on it.

But. . . The action is terrible.  It's bad.  It's so far from smooth it's not even funny.
I guess it's because it uses plastic bushings between the frame and blade.
Sometimes it will lock up super tight and require a great deal of force to unlock it.

I find myself not carrying it that much.[://

I just got the fixed blade yesterday.  I like it so far.  Haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Putting some blue loctite on the adjustable pivot lock screw solved that issue for me. When I first received it, it did the same thing to me and I found that the adjustable pivot locking screw was rotating. Also ensure the rotoblock is fully counterclockwise when trying to close it. A little bit of polishing on the lock up surface may also help to smooth it up also.

I've had my DPx H.E.S.T. folder for just a short while but it's taken residence in my pocket. The D2 tool steel blade sharpened up nicely with diamond stones and has held an edge very nicely after using it stripping cables and shielding jackets.

I had to cut some rubber tubing with it yesterday and it went through the 1" and 3/4" rubber tubing like butter. Typically I use shears to cut rubber tubing but the edge on the DPx gave a superb cut.

The 2.0 folder has been in my pocket for over a year. It's been used for about everything.

I also have a HEFT 4 fixed blade. It's brand new, so I haven't put it to test, but it looks great.

I love the knives, now I just wish I could find an ESEE version of the HEST fixed blade.
