Anyone still have a Gerber BMF blade. Do you use it still or relegate it to storage duty.

| I carried the lmf (original) in the corps, for years also, still have it and use the shit out of it . I use it mostly as a hunting/camp knife, duck hunting, cutting cane, bamboo for duck blinds, and camp stuff. My son, 12, thinks it the coolest thing ever, and he carries it more than me. I have the new lmf ii, I use camping/hiking.... when he has the other playing Rambo at the ranch, or where ever in the woods. Gerber makes a knife similar called the Steadfast. Almost identical. Oh I got mine in 93-94 from the px in 29- THE STUMPS |

I've owned and used one since the mid or late 80's, Can't remember when they came out. I chopped at least a cord of mesquite rounds about 4 inches in diameter by 4 inches long for my smoker. The wood was really hard and well seasoned and no blade chipping occured. For winter hunting in northeast Pennsylvania it was a reassuring companion if limbs needed cleared or a blind created. Back in '04 I saw one for sale at around $400, which is when mine went into long term storage. I replaced it with a Cold Steel Trailmaster in CarbonV.
