They used to be top of their market. The Axis mechanism was absolute brilliance, absolutely reinvented the EDC arena with a durable locking system that could be opened and closed quickly with either hand without passing fingers in the path of the blade.

I've owned at least 15 of their knives.

But it has been years since they released a decent Axis blade suitable for rugged use. The last one I bought was one of the HK knives. The Snody knives showed promis but used weak, weak pocket clips.

I'm beginning to give up hope that they will ever get back to their roots and will instead be content to offer garbage Lone Wolf or Harley branded products.

I just bought an Emerson CQC 8 to replace my retired Benchmade Osbourn. It took a few times of use, but I can flip that knife open one handed almost as fast as the Axis, but the knife is built tougher!

I just got a 275 and an 810 Contego....both are excellent choices from the Axis line.

I had a Rift, which to be honest I had severe buyer's remorse for.

Aside from that they're pretty good knives, but just too boring for me.

Presidios are very stout knives.

The BM 710 has a very thick blade for how narrow it is.

I recently got an Onslaught and it's a freaking beast, pictures do not do it justice.  The blade is thin, but I'm fine with that because it slices like nothing else.  If I need a stouter knife, that is what fixed blades are for.
