It seems like everybody has a "SERE" knife. I wanted to make a do all tough blade in a small size. This is my take on a SERE knife.

I call it the Dustwun, because if you ever find yourself a Dustwun this is the only knife you will need. 1/4" 1075, 3 1/2 chisel ground blade, 8" overall length, and stonewashed finish for a non-glare look. 3/8" thick OD canvas micarta hanbdle scales with a random textured pattern that fills the hand and will ensure that even with gloves on you won't lose your grip. Not to big, not to small, just the right size, and thick enough to take a beating.

It has extra holes drilled through the handles for weight savings and if you ever need to lash the knife to something. Exposed pommel with a point for bashing and to take stress off the handle scales.  Jimping on the pommel for better reverse grip dexterity, also jimping on the inside of the handle for more secure grip.

I made this one for myself but this is going to be put in the line up. I just love the size and how solid it feels.

Thanks for looking.

Nice work.  I did not have a knife like that when I went through the SERE course but I am confident that it would work just fine.

Thanks guys. Some buddies came over today and we built some ar15 uppers and I have been carrying it all day just cutting random things. I am really thinking about eventually doing a few in 1/4" CPM 3V, now that would be a helluva knife.

Been looking at the ESEE 5 and the BK2... I finally decided that due to size and weight that the ESEE 3 fit my needs better. I discovered this guy today and now... I think I am going to have to get The DUSTWUN !

Great example of a straightforward design, which I always like.
